Amidst all of the hustle and bustle of school, springtime arrived and with it came the celebration of Jesus Christ’s death on the cross and resurrection from the tomb to save us from our sins. Easter is such an important holiday because without the sacrifice that God made – giving his Son to save our lives – we wouldn’t attend church or celebrate Christmas or have any reason to celebrate anything. I know this is kind of heavy but I think its important to remember sometimes just how lucky we are!
Enough with the heavy…We celebrated Easter with Ben’s family on the Saturday before Easter. We ate supper at Amy’s, the little ones hunted eggs and the big guys (including Ben) played a 2 on 2 game of basketball that was VERY competitive!
On Sunday, the Easter Bunny found John Brooks and then Ben, John Brooks and I attended church and spent the afternoon with my dad and Robin – eating, visiting, relaxing and playing in the new sprinkler contraption that Pop Pop and Rob Rob gave to our water-lovin’ boy. All the fun wiped out John Brooks and even took a nap long enough for this mama to sit out by the pool and read a magazine! Easter miracle indeed!
It was a wonderful day and a the best way I can think of to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior! He’s Alive!
What a great family picture, Paige! I love that John Brooks sucks his thumb :)
