Meemaw came to town

This past Thursday, my dad’s mom came down from Johnson City, TN to visit us John Brooks for a few days. She hasn’t seen him since he was a few days old and we were thankful to have her down for a few days to see how he has grown and changed. Thankfully John Brooks’ fever broke late Wednesday night so by the time Meemaw arrived our little buster was working his way back to his normal jovial personality.

We had such a great time visiting with Meemaw! She is such a kind hearted human being – always looking for ways to help and she is loving to the point of smotherization. It was so sweet to see she and John Brooks bonding – he would hug her and plant kisses on her cheek and she just ate him up with a spoon. They had such a good time playing together and Meemaw fed him and changed him and held him soo much that Ben and I were convinced she had spoiled him rotten and we weren’t going to be able to live with him anymore. :)

I know he looks so serious y’all - he likes her I promise

On Saturday evening we met Ben’s parents and his Aunt Elizabeth over in Steinhatchee at Roys! We had such a great time visiting, eating and enjoying the beautiful landscape and sunset. I love Roy’s so much so I was grateful to have a reason to go! John Brooks was 100% better by then and had a great time visiting with everyone, chewing on whatever he could get his hands on and watching the people that came by our table. The salad bar is so awesome that both Ben and I were too full to finish our meals and brought enough home to have dinner last night (Sunday) as well. Y’all I know this is weird but there is something about leftover fried shrimp and hushpuppies that I just adore!

We took Meemaw with us to church on Sunday and then dropped her off at my dad’s for a couple of days before she heads back to the hills of Tennessee. We are so thankful that she could come visit for a few days and look forward to seeing her again soon.
