Back in July, Ben, John Brooks and I loaded our worldly possessions into the Camry and headed south for a weekend. Our destination? The home of my awesome friend Kathryn (Kat) and her husband Matt. Matt and Kat live with their daughter Audrey near Tampa. Kat and I are sorority sisters from Kappa Kappa Gamma and we even lived together in a super small double room and then a slightly larger triple room with our other good friend Michelle. The coolest thing about our room was the window that we could crawl out of on to the roof….but that’s a story for another day.
We had a wonderful time visiting the Shicks despite the fact that John Brooks decided it would be fun to have a midnight pajama party…one that lasted until 4 am…somehow by the grace of God his early morning antics didn’t wake up sweet Audrey (for which I am forever thankful) and we were able to enjoy a wonderful Saturday visiting another sorority sister (Libby) and her sweet family in Tampa followed by a yummy hamburger cookout with Gretchen (yet another Tampa Kappa) and Spencer (Matthew’s brother).
It was great to catch up with our dear friends! It is so neat to see how some things have changed (jobs, husbands, responsibilities) but other things always remain the same.
